Shogun's Reign Roles & Paths Tier List

Criteria-first rankings for Province jobs—not a combat fighter list.

Last updated:

The Tier List Hub for Shogun’s Reign ranks roles and progression paths inside an Edo-period Roblox life sim—not weapon DPS charts from an unrelated action game. Here you learn our criteria, what “S-tier” means in a Ryō-and-reputation economy, and where to open the detailed roles tier list.

If you need tutorials instead of rankings, switch to the Guides Hub. For identity and species context, use the Players Hub.

What we rank

Current rankings focus on jobs and paths players actually run in the Province:

  • Merchant — Stall stock and turnip/cabbage-style commerce
  • Farmer — Fields and early Ryō reliability
  • Attendant — Laundry, footwear etiquette, bathhouse service
  • Isha — Physician-like care (医者)
  • Performer — Songs and Instrument Master–oriented play

As more roles are confirmed, they will enter the same rubric. We do not invent combat classes from Shogun Reign Early Alpha or systems from Reign Piece / Shogun’s Realm.

Ranking criteria

Every placement on the roles tier list should be readable against clear axes:

  1. Early Ryō — How fast a broke spawn can fund food, stock, or housing goals
  2. Skill ceiling — Whether mastery (better stalls, fields, etiquette, care, or sets) meaningfully multiplies income or RP demand
  3. RP richness — How much social interaction the role creates in public Province spaces
  4. Badge / milestone synergy — Example: Performer toward Instrument Master; onboarding badges like Welcome to the Province sit outside job tiers
  5. Progression fit — How well the role feeds the wider arc of wealth → reputation → warrior/noble → Shogun ambition described in Progression
  6. Accessibility — Setup cost, knowledge barriers, and dependence on housing or customization

A role can be S-tier for early money and only A-tier for courtly RP—or the reverse. The detailed list calls out those splits instead of forcing a single vague score.

How to read tiers on this wiki

  • S — Excellent default pick for the stated goal (usually early economy or standout RP)
  • A — Strong, flexible, minor caveats
  • B — Solid when you enjoy the fantasy; not the fastest wallet route
  • C — Situational or higher setup cost relative to payout
  • D — Niche; play for flavor, not efficiency

Tiers will move when updates change economy tuning, housing rules, or role tools. Life sims shift with patches; treat rankings as dated guidance, not scripture.

Methodology notes (and honesty limits)

Shogun’s Reign is relatively new (~July 2026 release window, with continued activity into September 2026). Sample sizes are community-driven, not a massive esports dataset. We therefore:

  • Prefer confirmed role behavior over rumor
  • Separate economy ranks from RP prestige ranks when they disagree
  • Avoid padding the list with unverified jobs
  • Link every major claim back to a guide or players page so you can verify steps in-game

Promo codes are not part of tier math—there are no active codes to skew early Ryō. Scripts and exploits are irrelevant to legitimate rankings; see the Scripts hub for why we refuse that meta.

Suggested use

  1. Skim criteria on this hub
  2. Open Roles tier list for placements
  3. Jump into the matching guide and earn Ryō honestly
  4. Recheck after major Province patches listed under Updates

Rankings exist to shorten decision time—Farmer versus Merchant for your first hour, or whether Attendant/Isha/Performer fits your RP nights—not to shame anyone for picking a beloved B-tier life.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is this a PvP combat tier list?

No. Shogun's Reign rankings cover roles and progression paths in a life-sim / RP Province—economy, RP value, and status fit—not fighter DPS.

Where is the actual S–D list?

Open the Roles tier list subpage for placements. This hub explains criteria and how to use the rankings with guides.

Will tiers change after updates?

Yes. Economy or role tool changes can move placements. Recheck this hub and the roles list after major patches noted on the Updates page.

Should I only play S-tier roles?

No. S-tier picks speed early Ryō or highlight standout RP loops. Play Attendant, Isha, Performer, or any path you enjoy once your basics are stable.
