How to pick a species (practical method)

1. Open the live customizer in Hub or wherever the build exposes it.
2. Filter by silhouette. Can you recognize yourself at stall distance?
3. Check clipping in doorways, fields, and bathhouse spaces after adjusting scale/height.
4. Write one lore sentence you can repeat without a monologue.
5. Match tags so Attendant clients or Merchant buyers know how to address you.
6. Play a full work shift as Farmer, Merchant, or a service role before locking identity emotionally.

If you hate the vibe after an hour, change it. Early Ryō matters more than ancestry FOMO.

Roleplaying Ryūjin and other fantasy options

Ryūjin-inspired play works best when ancestry is seasoning, not a permission slip to ignore etiquette:

Species will not shortcut The Shogunate badge. Political arcs, revolts (Reign’s End), and Ambitionless endings are life-path narratives described on the progression page—not species perks.

Good bio pattern:

• Line 2: species hook in plain language.
• Line 3: how to approach (hiring Attendant help, trade, music requests).

Tags might include your species name plus farmer/merchant/attendant/isha/performer. Update them when you change loops; stale tags confuse collaborators.
